ParticipantHello,
I used the code sample from index-classic-video.html.
Tried with the sample video memory-of-a-woman and with my video.
Chrome inspector shows no errors.
However, I can’t get the video to play. Please advise.

KeymasterHi, I just checked the link you sent and I can see the video with autoplay working well.
Checked on Chrome.
Not sure if you were able to fix it, if the problem persists please send more details.
Thanks.

ParticipantUnfortunately I’m checking it on on 2 different laptops it’s not playing the video on either of them.
Latest version of Chrome with Windows 10. All using same WiFi.
Both of those laptops do display the video when I go to *your* website and view the classic video and classic video light.
I can also view the video on iPhone 12 Pro Max.
I don’t have any unusual browser settings – I go default and only browser extension is Grammarly.
I don’t have any firewalls beyond basic Windows Defender Firewall.
Avira for Anti-virus.

ParticipantI also checked on Microsoft Edge and had same results.
Doesn’t play on my website.
Does play on yours.
No errors on inspector or significant HTML errors

KeymasterI believe the issue is that the video file is too large (over 200 MB). In some browsers, the video may take longer to load before it starts playing. For example, I tested it on Edge, and it took almost 10 seconds to start, whereas on Chrome, it started immediately.
I suggest converting the video to reduce its file size and quality.
You can use various tools to optimize videos—search for “MP4 video optimizer” or “HTML5 video converter” on Google, and you’ll find many free options available.

ParticipantThanks for the suggestion. I tested with a different video that was about 5mb and it loaded and played right away. So probably a combination file size and maybe connection speed how the browser handles.

ParticipantFollow up is there a way to use YouTube video as a background and have it autoplay?

KeymasterRegarding YouTube video, please check this topic about a similar question: https://www.okler.net/forums/topic/video-section/
The issue is that you have limited control over YouTube elements such as controls and ads. Therefore, we decided not to include those features on Porto files. The best option is to use MP4 videos instead.
