The instagram feed example from https://www.okler.net/previews/porto/12.0.0/demo-barber.html no longer works. After some research facebook changed the api. Do you recommend any alternative or any future plans for update the plugin?

Hello, sorry about that but since last september the API is not available anymore, it requires business account and a lot of extra work to make it work, so we decided to remove the integration (it will not be in the next version anymore).

You can find some options to do that using widgets/embeds, but most of them are not free (or limited):
