Prevent loading overlay on mailto links

I am using the loading overlay when you click on a link. Works fine so far. But if I click on a link like
info(at)domain.com
(the email gets decoded and then acts like a normal mailto-link)

the page becomes white. Can I prevent that behaviour that the loading overlay fires in that case somehow?
